Faeelin
It just feels very... immersion breaking to have to sacrifice people to a bunch of foreign gods as a Roman citizen.
Claudia Cincinnata
If you don't want to sacrifice anyone, you can acquire a scythe from Ambroix and use one of your own eyes as a sacrifice. The negative consequence of doing this is that your critical damage will permanently reduce to zero. But this is what I did: I chose to recruit Bellius as a praetorian after I spared him in front of Lurco at the beginning of the Gallic Campaign. Obviously, he could be a plant sent by Lurco. That is why I recruited him for this specific quest and sacrificed him. Not only did I make a proper sacrifice but also killed a possible spy in my legion. P.S. Sacrificing Bellius can also trigger an easter egg conversation. This dude is so cowardice that he should not be considered a Roman.
Sarmatian
You can also recruit a new praetorian, a sacrifice him. It's a poor design. It doesn't bring emotional charge from the player, and you can get around it easily.
